Pokok Lemon ni Mak mertua beli. Dalam 4-5 bulan lepas. Dulu pernah cuba. Dari biji x berjaya pasal arnab asyik makan. 2nd time beli di tesco. Tak berjaya jugak pasal x jaga betul2. Habis kena makan dengan ulat beluncas. Kali ni pokoknya nampak sihat. Minggu lepas dah berbunga n berbuah. Sekarang bunga kedua dah keluar. Kalau berjaya nak test buahnya sama kualiti x dgn lemon beli

Setakat ni dah byk tanam pokok epal ni. Rata2 tak dilabel, x diketahui dari biji epal mana..

Gambar first pokok generasi pertama, masa testing tanam pokok dari biji. Ke hari ini umur pokok ni 20 bulan. Tepi2 tu pokok basil, musang king, and oregano. Most likely dari Fuji. Byk bercambah. Cuma dalam pasu ni kadang2 lambat siram layu sikit

 pokok kedua ni dalam 18 bulan. Ntah dari biji epal yg mana. Daunnya berbulu sedikit. Dah 2 meter tinggi. X ada byk masalah serangan serangga

Ini antara generasi ke dua. Umur dalam 1 tahun. Byk bercabang. Dahan agak kuar Dan bercambah. Daunnya kecik2. Tapi ni ulat beluncas suka. Jadi saya simpan dalam pasu untuk jaga. Tunggu2 dalam 1.8m

Ini dari Matsu. Umur setahun. Dahannya agak lembut. Mungkin dari jenis yg perlu disokong kayu. Disease resistant, insect resistant. Plannya nak tanam di Ipoh kemudian. Matsu ni sebiji je 13ringgit. Tapi biji benih banyak.

Matsu yang kedua. Yang lain ditanam keliling rumah Dan tempat2 lain. Yg ni Dan diatas saya simpan kerana nampak agak cantik pokoknya. Lebih kurang setahun, 80cm tunggu2

Pokok yg ni pun dalam setahun. Dari segi daun n dahan nampak macam adapted dgn weather Bangi. Plan utk tanam di Ipoh bulan depan

Yang ni dalam setahun setgh. X sure dari biji epal mana. Tapi semua biji benih ni sgt vigorous. Cepat membesar. Akar dia cepat membesar. Kalau ingat x ingat mungkin dari cameo atau epal yg Mak saya bwk dari Germany aritu. Tapi problemnya akar prone to fungal infection masa transfer ke tanah. Dalam 10 pokok x hidup. Yang ni antara 3 yang hidup n terlebih sihat

Ni antara granny smith atau gala. Mcm byk blog and forum lain, tahun pertama nak jaga byk kerja sikit. Dah lepas tahun pertama dia sendiri vigorous. Harap2nya dapat la berbunga at least 2-3 tahun lg

Jazz apple. Tahun pertama. Akhirnya start mengeluarkan dahan2. Mungkin nak keep dalam pasu dulu

Setakat ni dari 60 pasu dah tanam kebanyakannya ke tanah. Tinggal 20 pasu lebih mostly pasal dah xtau nak tanam mana. Haha

Golden Delicious Apple

Biggest issue with my current project was, i labelled them poorly. the difficult part lies on they are all from seeds! Sometimes I germinate 2-3 varieties, but i didn't label them (hoping that my memories would do the job). sometimes i do, but the water content in the process, the casing i used to keep the seeds tumbled, and other factor makes me confuse again.

During my occasional reading about apples, i stumbled upon golden delicious many times. almost all of the apple variety would have GD as one (and some multiples) of the parent. Can't help but to think if i ever wanted an apple tree that would fruit, then the best bet would be GD seedlings.

GD actually looked like a pear. but it tasted like apple still of course. 4-5 months ago I was lucky that Jaya Grocer did sell them for RM 4 an apple. bought 2 of them, each only have 2 seeds unfortunately. So I started to keep them in the freeze in wet tissues (unfortunately with another variety seeds which i forgot from which apple seed). it all germinate just fine

As the seedlings grow, my worry grow - which one is exactly GD seedling again? this one on the left grew very well. but it doesn't really have the characteristics of an apple tree. Rather, it more resembles more of a pear. it grew very well, now about 1 foot tall

This is my pear tree. a failed project. this small fella suppose to be 1 year age, but still at this small (1 inch)










Hence i thought this could actually be the one. Problem is, it might take years to actually know

By far i have about 30 potted apple trees, with nearly 20 planted scattered in Bangi and Ipoh, few giveaway hoping that some if not 1 would grew and benefited the squirrels and birds.
